Lesson plan
Where to start there are so many things that the students need to learn. I choose something that interested me, which was erosion. There are so many different online lesson plans for this area and there are some really great web videos that can be used. I choose to do something that the students do not need to have their own computers, because in our school the students only get to use a computer twice a week for 1/2 hour. So it's hard to teach them something on the computer when their whole time is spent doing what the computer teacher has for them.
Skype
I did not realize hwat a great tool this could be and how easy it is to use. What a great way to have students meet other classes or different parts of the world. I think it could be a great tool if you have a student that is unable to attend class for awhile to keep up and to also interact with their fellow students. I think it could be a great way to do a parent teacher conference if the parents are divorced and one lives somewhere else, that way both can be involved in their child's learning.
Photo Editing
The photo editing class was great. It really helped me with understanding how to change so many of my pictures. That would explain why I am so late with this blog posting. I also really liked that they taught us a program that was free, but it really works well.

Wikis and podcast
I really liked last nights class I didn't lnow exactly what a wiki was until now. They sure could be a really handy tool to use in class and out. I am going to start using them with some friends, esp. since we are planning a trip.
The pod cast is a great tool that I have used in a spec. ed class and really liked. I just didn't realize how many of them are out there and that are free. What a great way to teach some things in your class. Or to help those students that have illness and are out for sometime.

Web Evaluation
This assignment was very informative. There sure is a lot of different sights out there, it could be very overwhelming if you were not sure what you were looking for. I think that it helpful to have the evaluation forms so you can make sure that you mark the sights that are good. It also is very helpful when you talk to others about different sights maybe they found some that you didn't know about. But I did enjoy this assignment

Web Quests
I really liked doing the web quests assignment, it was very informative. I didn't realize that these were even out in the internet world. I think that they could be a great educational tool, but it would be really hard to use them in most classrooms in our district, because we only have computer labs that the students are only able to use for 1/2 hour a couple times a week. But if you had computers in the class what a great way for the students to learn a variety of things.
YETC Resources
I found this lesson to be very informative, it was nice to see that the university has so many helps for their teachers and students.Their are great helps for teachers when planning their lessons with old books, curriculum ideas, clip art and just general knowledge areas. It is neat that they are willing to share their resources.
Lesson plan 1
The lesson plan that I create was on health in 5th grade. The information that I found on their core is that they are to able able to understand calories and how they affect their bodies. But I found it interesting that when I talked to my 5th grade son that he had no clue what I was talking about, so apparently they didn't have much health studies. But he did have a great teacher.

WEB 2.0
This was a fun assignment for me. There are so many different ways a of communicating with your students. And so much information for them to find. I would like to use different technology items in my classroom that way the students become familiar. I think a blog is a great way to keep the parents informed as to what is going on in your class. This way they can know what the up coming assignments or test are, and what fun things might be happening in school. But don't get me wrong there will still be plenty of notes sent home to cover all the bases.
I have found that the UEN web sight is an amazing tool for teachers as well as parents. Where else can you find all of the information that your students needs to be successful. It has great ideas and lesson plans already for the teacher to use. Also as a parent you can see what your child should be learning in school.

Homework 1
After watching the different videos I didn't realize what a high drop out rate there is among teenager. But I really like the idea of using technology that the kids think are great to get their attention and make learning fun. I am having a hard time learning new things with technology because it wasn't so there in everyday life. I really struggle taking test on the computer because I need something in my hand to help me. But on the other hand my 11 year old preferes to take test on the computer. The only problem I see with using all of the modern day technology is what about the kids that do not have it avialable to them, will they feel left out and out of place.

The boys are: Brayden (11), Garrett (9), Colten (7), and Chase 4. Our most of the time sweet little girl Mikaly is 1. I must be crazy for deciding to go back to school with all that we have going on at home but for the most part I sure am enjoying it.
